Chris Gore: Mathematics
When I took my A.S. I enrolled in every mathematics class that was offered at the two-year level, and my B.S. was a dual major in mathematics and computer science. All of my out-of-department electives during my M.S. in computer science were mathematics courses. I actually like math. I think you could too, but I won't hold it against you if you don't.
Most of the programming I do is mathematically oriented, various forms of mathematical modeling. My favorite intractable problem in computer science to play around with is prediction of the stock market (it's harder to do than you might think.) I also mess around with various forms of artificial intelligence and evolutionary programming; often to try to predict the stock market.
I like to play with programmable calculators. They provide for a good challenge, trying to see how much can be done with a very simple and limited system. I have programmed numerical integration on the Casio fx-6300G, an old calculator of mine. I have also written a very large library of useful additional functions for the HP 49G+, a calculator that is not really all that limited.
Do you want to make pretty equations on your webpages? jsMath is great for that!
